How can we help?

Leasing

Who is eligible to live in the BV community?

Currently The Broadview at Vanderbilt leases are only available to Vanderbilt University graduate and professional students.

Can a spouse/partner live with me?

Yes, spouses/partners of Vanderbilt graduate students are eligible to live with you. An additional occupant fee will apply to your monthly rent. Please contact the leasing office for more information.

  What is an individual lease?

An individual lease provides each resident with their own separate lease agreement and responsibility for only his/her rental installments. By signing an individual lease, you are only taking responsibility for your rental installments and lease terms and will not be held liable for any delinquent amounts owed by your roommate(s). The individual lease agreement protects you in the event your roommates cannot make their payments, or if they leave their lease agreement early. This by-the-bed lease option is the only available lease option.

How long is the lease agreement?

The lease term starts mid-August and expires at the end of the following July. This year only** we are offering a 2-year lease options for qualified applicants. Please contact the Leasing Office or visit the Floor Plans page for additional information. **Valid on leases starting between July 13th 2023 – August 31st 2023**

How do I sign my lease?

Prospects sign the Lease Agreement electronically via their Resident/Prospect Portal. A lease contract is only valid once the primary lease holder (the resident) signs the Lease Agreement. If there is a Guarantor, the Guarantor must also sign the Lease Agreement for it to be valid. The Broadview at Vanderbilt management team will then countersign after all parties sign the Lease Agreement.

How do I know if I qualify?

Future residents can qualify on their own or with a Guarantor. If the resident cannot qualify on their own or find a guarantor, we have partnered with The Guarantors, a third party guarantor provider, to offer an alternative solution. Prospects who are interested can apply free of charge on the following website: www.theguarantors.com/renters. The Guarantors acts as a guarantee to the lease and requires a non-refundable fee of up to 3-5% of the annual lease.

Am I required to have renter's insurance?

Yes, before you take occupancy you must show proof of renter’s insurance. You are welcome to acquire your own policy, or we will enroll you into our master policy. The minimum coverage is $100,000 in General Liability. If you choose to enroll in our auto policy, the cost is $12/month. Please contact the Leasing Office for further details.

The form allows you to make notes of any friends applying at The Broadview at Vanderbilt that you would like to live with. The form also asks you to input your hobbies, interests, sleep routines, pet preferences, and study habits. This information helps our team match you with someone with similar interests.

What if I don't like my roommate after move-in?

If there are differences between roommates that cannot be resolved, residents may be able to transfer as rooms are available. A transfer fee will apply. Please contact the community office for more information.

Around the Community

Is The Broadview partnered with Vanderbilt?

Vanderbilt entered an agreement with Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and Axium Infrastructure with the aim of building quality graduate and professional student housing near campus that would foster opportunities for students to create community and build interdisciplinary connections. Vanderbilt provided land for the project; however, the building is owned and operated by BBCS/Axium. BBCS/Axium secured financing for the Broadview, which they have developed, and will operate and maintain as a public-private partnership (P3) with the university.

Where can I park my car?

Through our partnership with Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt Parking provides parking access for our residents. We highly encourage residents to purchase an annual pass, as this not only allows you to park near the property, but in multiple designated lots across Vanderbilt's campus. The closest garage to The Broadview is Terrace Place Garage, which is normally not open to graduate students, and is just a one minute walk across the street.

Graduate students can purchase an annual pass at any time, once students buy their permit, they will need to email Parking Services to get their ID card activated to use the Terrace Place garage. For additional questions regarding pricing, parking locations, etc. please contact Vanderbilt parking at parking@vanderbilt.edu.

  Where can guests park?

Please refer to guest/visitor parking at Vanderbilt University.

How do I get around Nashville?

Nashville runs a campus bus called WeGo which connects to the rest of campus and the surrounding transit systems. There is also a rideshare pick-up area located in front of the community on 20th Avenue.
